Hunting gun with a changeable rifled barrel

Patent: 98558 from 12.05.2010 It is valid to 2020 Hunting gun with a changeable rifled barrel

The utility model belongs to a hunting type weapon, double-barrelled and smooth-bore gun with horizontally located barrels and is used for marketable and sports hunting. There are many guns of the same type and one of them is IZH-43.
The disadvantage of this gun is that it is impossible to shoot game from a 100-meter distance.

The technical purpose of the utility model is to exclude mentioned drawbacks by adding to the construction of the gun a third small-calibre rifled barrel.
The task can be accomplished by putting the third rifled barrel between the right and the left smooth barrels in the top part in the middle where there is a space with 3 grooves.
The changeable barrel has 3 square supports with a thread in the bottom for driving in the fastening bolts. The changeable barrel should be fixed between the right and the left barrels. The square supports which are in the bottom of the changeable barrel go into the grooves between the right and the left barrels, so the changeable barrel is pressed against the left and the right ones with 3 bolts which get driven in through the slots.
Into the construction of the percussive mechanism of the gun should be added one head in the middle which is a little higher of the heads of the left and right barrels.
The exact position of the percussion cap of bullets relative to the head will be possible to set up after moving the center of the axis of the barrel to the top, bottom and to the side. It is necessary because the head should beat into the definite spot of the percussion cap, because every type of a bullet has a different type of percussion cap.

Into the construction of the lock of the gun there also should be added one mode - shooting from all 3 barrels. This way the lock will also become a switch of modes of fire where:
The 1st mode - blocking of all the trigger mechanisms (the lock)
The 2nd mode - shooting out of 2 smooth barrels, left and right. In this case the trigger has 2 modes of release, left and right, as in a regular gun IZH-43.
The 3rd mode - shooting out of all 3 barrels. In this case the trigger has 3 modes of release, first of which is shooting out of the changeable rifled barrel, the second - shooting out of the left smooth barrel, the third - shooting out of the right smooth barrel.

The application of offered improvements in the construction of the gun will allow to point the gun on the target with more precision, because above the middle, changeable rifled barrel there will be placed the backsight and the frontsight. More over, without a serious increase of the weight, the gun will become more universal and will allow the hunter to broaden the views of the potential bag.
The changeable barrel can be made to fit any bullet and that way give more universality to the construction.

The formula of the utility model

The hunting gun with 2 horizontal smooth barrels, a trigger and a lock which has 2 modes of blocking and release with the capacity of shooting out of 2 smooth barrels, left and right, which is different from others because it has the third, changeable rifled barrel on the top between the left and the right ones, along with that the lock has the capacity to provide shooting out of all 3 barrels.

The summary:

The utility model belongs to a hunting type weapon, double-barrelled and smooth-bore gun with horizontally located barrels and is used for marketable and sports hunting.
Without a permit to have a rifled weapon a beginning hunter can first buy a gun without an additional third barrel. In the future when a hunter reaches a 5-year hunting experience and with no violations, he will be able to get a license to buy a rifled gun and get a changeable barrel. This is a way to save money on purchase of a new gun.
Some hunters use so-called "bush" - rifled barrels which can be inserted into smooth barrels instead of bullets. It is illegal, of course, and adds more weight to the weapon and does not allow to aim well.
