Bumbox-projector

Patent: 95863 from 15.06.2009 It is valid to 2019 Portable tele/radio tuner, projector, DVD recorder and video/photo camera

The Utility model "Portable tele/radio tuner, projector, DVD recorder and video/photo camera" belongs to the mobile multifunctional media device, similar to "boombox" but with a great amount of functions.
Nowadays there are a lot of multifunctional mobile media devices called "boomboxes". Plenty of small projectors, photo/video cameras and portable TVs are also being produced.
Today exists only one mobile cassette-recorder "boombox" with the DVD-disks driver - it is Elenberg CD-500DVD. But it doesn't have even a small built-in display which could let one select audio/video tracks out of the playlists, not to mention looking through the images. This device weighs 3 kilograms and costs about 2000 rubles.
The technical purpose of this prospective Utility model is the integration of a TV, a DVD recorder, a projector and a screen with its frame, a photo/video camera and a radio tuner in one body.

The prospective Utiliti model will possibly have a shape of a rectangle of the following sizes: Length - about 60 cm, width - 20 cm, high of about 30 cm. The exact size, shape and weight will depend on the size of the component parts, their geometric shape and sizes.
There should be made on the sides of UM removable acoustic speakers with a cord which could be winded around the inertial reel situated inside of every acoustic speaker.
The cord should have a capability of being fixed at any length of unwinding similar to a tape-measure. Due to the increase of the distance between the left and the right speakers, the stereo effect impression will be achieved.

The device will be divided in 3 parts: 1 - main frame, 2 - the right speaker, 3 - the left speaker.
When the video projector function is not needed, it will be possible to use UM without removing the speakers, for instance, while listening to the music files, photo/video recording. When using the video projector with the speakers attached, because of the vibrations caused by the work of the acoustic dynamic heads it will be impossible to turn the volume up because the picture on the display will be shaking.

In the upper panel of the UM in the middle of the main frame there will be situated a DVD-player or a Blu-Ray disk drive.
On the sides of the upper panel there will be attached a belt for carrying the device. Its ends will be going into the slot upon lowering the belt stretched by the inertial reel. The belt will be also holding the cover of the DVD or the Blu-Ray disk driver not to let it open. It is especially necessary while carrying the UM with the luggage.

On the back panel of the main frame of the UM are located the lens of the projector and the lens of the photo/video camera which are situated close to each other at one altitude and are protected by one shutter to open or close them.
When the protective shutter slides to the left, the lens of the photo/video camera opens and turns on, and the display on the front panel starts showing the images of the camera.
The 3 megapixels resolution for a photo camera will be enough, for a video camera 1million pixels will do good.
When the protective shutter slides to the right, the lens of the projector opens and the projector turns on.
The power of the projector should be enough for a display of a qualitative image with 2*3 meters size. The lens of the projector has to be wide angled so that the distance, from which the image will be projected, could be minimum.
On the back panel of the UM there will be situated a power cord winded on the inertial reel inside the frame with its capacity of fixation at any length of the unwinded cord similar to a tape-measure.
The exact location of the lens of the projector, the lens of the photo/video camera and the cord will be defined by the components.

On the front panel of the UM will be located analog and digital connectors for unloading/downloading the images and sound, for instance, DVI and HDMI, USB connectors and slot for лля, SD memory cards and other possible types.
Through the USB connectors the device will be connected to a PC identified in the PC as a new external hard disk HDD. It will be possible to charge the battery from the cigarette-lighter plug of the car via USB port.
On the front panel of the UM in the center there will be located a color sensor display with a 10-15 cm diagonal.
The display is necessary for tracks searching in the folders upon listening to music, for installing a shooting mode in an audio/video/photo/TV recording and always when there is no necessity in using a projector. The display will serve for equalizer's adjustments, for video/photo lens focusing, for adjustments of the shooting modes.

Too many buttons on the front panel are not necessary. There should be only a set of buttons for managing video/photo camera. Managing the menu and selecting the files are realized by a finger, so the icons of the menu should be of a bigger size. For a display a 600*900 pixels resolution and 65000 colors will be enough.
If the projector is off, a touch of the screen should bring out the menu display. If, while an audio track playing, the screen was not touched for 10 seconds, it automatically turns on the mode of file manager's folders display.
If, while watching video or TV, the screen was not touched or the buttons were not pressed for 10 seconds, the screen automatically starts browsing and brings out the video slides.
When the projector is on, video's browsing is realized with a projecting image, and a small screen by default should show the settings menu or a file manager.

On the front panel there will also be located an output for the earpieces and an input for a microphone.
On the bottom of the UM there will be situated a container for a lithium battery which should be enough for 2 hours of watching a video on the built-in display (one movie). The capacity of the battery can be calculated only after composing the exact architecture of the UM. The cover to the battery compartment will be serving as a stand for a monitor.
Under the cover of the battery compartment there will be 4 crosspieces for a creation of the screen's frame, which has to be attached to these crosspieces along the perimeter pushing them into the loops. Each loop is for 1 bend. They are going to be of a telescopic structure similar to a fishing-rod or an antenna. For a hardness of the structure each crosspiece is to be fixed in a pulled-out position.

For a creation of the screen's frame it is necessary to fasten to each other the extended telescopic crosspieces, the requirements for it are: On the end of the external bend there will be an internal cone of 90% (degrees of turn), and on the end of the internal bend - an internal cone. These cones on the edges of the crosspieces will be entering each other and being fixed as a "Morse" cone.
The lower telescopic crosspiece will be oval, for attachment on the stand (on the cover of the battery compartment).
The set of the UM will be offered with a screen of about 100*150 cm made out of a special fabrics which will increase the contrast range, the fabrics which is used for producing modern screens.
On the horizontal surface ( a table, a floor) the screen can be put as a TV. When possible, the screen can be hung by the loop in the center of the upper edge.
The exact size of the screen can be calculated by the length of the circle of the device.
Winded according to the altitude, the folded screen will have a length of 1 meter. The roll will be placed into the hollow located in the lower part of the device along the perimeter as a curved "tube" bended at 90 degrees.
The screen will be pushed into from the right end of the device, the cover of the compartment will be tightened up for the purpose of water resistance. The internal diameter of the place for the screen cloth (a curved "tube") will depend on the external diameter of the screen roll (folded screen), which is the thickness of the screen fabrics itself.
Under the cover of the battery compartment there will be located a remote. With the help of the remote of the UM it will be possible to sign the recorded files and TV programs, in this case there should be situated the numbered buttons with an alphabet on the remote, as the ones on the cellular phones.
In the prospective Utility model a there will be installed a hard flash memory of about 5 GB for caching the data upon recording an optical disk DVD. While installing the recorder of the optical Blu-Ray disks, there should be built in a memory of 20 GB into the Utility model.

Nowadays there are a lot of multifunctional mobile media devices called "boomboxes" which weigh about 1 kg and contain audio stereo system, CD disk driver, radio tuner and even a cassette-recorder, which is out-of-date.
There are many video projectors of 1 kg weight on sale. The type of the projector device does not have much importance. LCD is of higher quality, less harmful but expensive. DLP is more contrasting and cheaper, but it is not recommended to watch it for more than 2-3 hours in a roll. It means that a video projector could be easily integrated into the UM.
Modern photo/video cameras, flash memory cards and TV/radio tuners of the same parameters in the UM are fit into the cellular phones. According to all that, the integration of a photo/video camera, memory and TV/radio tuner into a big device will not involve much effort. Modern laptops weigh about 1 kg and have built-in DVDs and Blu-Ray optical disk drivers which not only read the info but also record it on DVD and Blu-Ray disks. And they have a built-in memory for 100s GB.

The existence of all these devices on sale proves the possibility of integration into one device weighing 3-5 kg of a:
1. Radio tuner
2. TV-set
3. Video camera
4. Photo camera
5. DVD recorder
6. Projector
